This celebration looks like fun! I attended Ferlinghetti's 80th birthday dinner when I worked at City Lights Books. He was a fantastic boss, a very gentle soul and a humble legend.

In honor of Lawrence Ferlinghetti’s 100th birthday we will host a party of the century with a poetry extravaganza on March 17,1 p.m. in the Main Library's Koret Auditorium.
Poets Jack Hirschman, Aggie Falk-Hirschman, Janice Mirikatani, devorah major and more will read their favorite Lawrence Ferlinghetti poems – and some of their own. Hosted by Neeli Cherkovski and City Lights Bookseller & Publisher.
