Father's Day in the Bay - A Round-up of Great Places to Treat Dad
Shopping for dad is always a challenge - After a lifetime of hearing that the big guy doesn’t need anything for Father’s Day, you may be tempted to throw in the towel. But before you cry uncle and settle for a variety pack of tube socks, consider giving him a little of your quality time. The Bay Area is host to a bevy of dad-worthy options and events. So hoist your paternal unit from his favorite recliner and plan for a day of high quality bonding.
Nothing says "I love you, dad" quite as tastily a pig on a spit. Presidio Social Club will host its annual Father’s Day Pig Roast on Sunday, June 15. This vintage-Hawaiian themed luau should bring daddy-o back to the backyard luau days of his boyhood. The aroma of two pigs rotating on a spit on the sunny back patio is sure to put a smile on his face. Permission to pork out is on the menu. The "Pig Roast Sunday Supper" includes succulent servings right off the spit, two sides and a scrumptious Pineapple Upside-down Cake with coconut sorbet for dessert. Available from 1 PM through dinner service.
